NSBE NOVA Professionals Mentorship

NSBE Jr. Chapter Visit

On Saturday, January 24th, we will have about 40-50 NSBE Jr. students from the DMV area come down to visit Tech and our PCI/ TORCH team is looking for volunteers to help us out from 9:30am- 3pm in New Classroom Building. We'll be doing a bunch of activities like making spaghetti bridges, coding, making catapults, and even have a few of y'all speak for a student panel!

ANSI Student Paper Competition (2025–2026)
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites high school and college students to participate in its national Student Paper Competition. This is an excellent way to gain real research experience and strengthen your resume for interviews—especially in the life sciences and quality fields.

🔍 Focus: Investigating the unseen standards that make modern life possible.

Publix 2026 Summer Internship Program
Publix will post internship openings on January 28, 2026. Internships run May 19–July 25 and are available across departments including Accounting, Data Analytics, IT, Legal, HR, Engineering, Communications, and more.
✔ 40 hours/week, competitive pay
✔ Free housing for out-of-area interns
✔ Open to bachelor’s and graduate degree–seeking students

A Step to the Doctorate (S2D) – Virginia Tech
A free graduate-school preparation program for STEM juniors and seniors graduating by Spring 2027. Includes a one-day bootcamp and follow-up writing support.

iD Tech – Summer STEM Instructor Positions
Hiring college students to teach Robotics, Game Design, Coding, and Digital Art & Design to students ages 7–18.

The MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP)
A prestigious 9-week paid summer research program at MIT for undergraduates considering graduate school. Includes stipend, housing, and travel.

University of Utah – Summer Program for Undergraduate Research
Paid 10-week summer research experience across health, engineering, law, robotics, architecture, and more.

Summer Undergraduate Research on Ice Nucleation in Austria (IRES)
Paid international research experience in Vienna, Austria, with pre-departure training at Virginia Tech.
